Our church is located near the tip of beautiful Monterey Peninsula on a forested hillside; a perfect location for your special day.  

Weddings at the First United Methodist Church of Pacific Grove are solemn religious services and are conducted within the guidelines of Christian tradition; however, couples of all faiths are welcome at our church.  FUMCPG offers seating for 300 people, yet retains an intimate ambiance for even the smallest weddings. The church features a long center aisle and two side aisles. Sliding glass doors on the west side of the church provide an attractive view of the garden patio, which may be used for small weddings, photos, and a receiving line. The church also offers ample parking for all guests.  The bride’s room for the bride and her attendants is spacious and located just off the altar.

Premarital counseling is not required, but it is available upon request.  While the bride and groom do not have to be members of our church, it is required that the ceremony be performed by an ordained Christian minister in good standing.  The FUMCPG pastor will preside over the ceremony or approve a minister of the bride and groom’s choosing.  The cost of your wedding includes a wedding coordinator that is part of our church family.   When the reservation is made, you will be provided with the contact information of your wedding coordinator. The coordinator will attend both your rehearsal and your ceremony to provide guidance with respect to the details of the service.  Special arrangements may be made for small receptions in the church hall, at an additional fee.  Up to 70 guests may be accommodated for a sit-down meal or about 100 for cake and punch.  Clean up and insurance is required.  Alcohol and smoking are NOT permitted on church grounds. Throwing of rice or confetti is NOT permitted; however, birdseed may be thrown outside only.

Deposit: $250 (non-refundable)


Wedding: $1250 (plus deposit)

(includes pastor, wedding coordinator, sanctuary, bride’s room, and rehearsal fee)


Organist: $250 (optional)

Sound Technician: $150 (optional)


Private Wedding: $600 (includes pastor, sanctuary, ceremony with witness)


Offsite Wedding: $300 (pastor only)


Non-refundable deposit required to reserve wedding date. Payment in full due two weeks prior to wedding.


Reception fees are separate and available on request.
